Supporting your child without directing their match: this distinction runs through Excelsior Academy’s parents’ charter, dated 29 August 2025 and still available on Virton’s website.
Encouraging the whole team
The document asks parents to support the other children as much as their own, respect opponents and referees, and reject verbal or physical violence. Sporting decisions remain the coach’s responsibility. If difficulties arise, the charter directs families to the technical manager for youth development.
Organising dialogue
For absences from matches, the text says the club should be notified at least two hours before kick-off. It also cites the PSD platform as a link between families and coaching staff. The “Parents fair-play” programme is presented as a way to foster a calm atmosphere around matches.
These guidelines come from the 2025 charter, not from a new set of rules announced for 2026-2027. Families should check with their club for the instructions and contacts for the current season.
